Question Answer
What is the formula for the area of a circle? pi x radius^2
What is the formula for circumference? 2 x r x pi
What is a sector? It is a portion of a circle.
Whta is a radius? Half the diameter of a circle.
State the formula for the perimeter of a sector. (Ɵ/360x 2 x pi x r) x 2r The part in brackets is the formula to work out the arc length and the 2r represents the sides of the sector.
How do you work out an arc length? (State as a formula) Ɵ/360x 2 x pi x r Ɵ is the angle of the sector.
Ɵ of a sector is 60 degrees. The radius is 8 cm. What is the area of the sector? Ɵ/360 x pi x 8^2= 235cm^2
