Question Answer
Longitudinal Wave Longitudinal waves move back and forth. Sound waves are longitudinal Transverse Waves Transverse waves move side to side. Water waves are transverse waves.
Refraction Refraction is when light slows down and changes direction when it enters a different material. Diffraction is where a wave changes shape and direction when it encounters a obstacle.
The Doppler effect is when a moving object compresses the wavelength of a sound wave when it is moving in the same direction. Reflection is returning a wave without absorbing it. The angle of incidence is always equal to the angle of reflection.
