What is a project management methodology? Procedural framework within which the project can operate. Integrated with organisations own systems & procedures. Projects team work is coordinated with global business methods
People and organisation Standard way of describing individual roles & responsibilities (i.e. sponsor, project manager, project office etc)
Products Two types: 1. Products that help run project (i.e. PMP, schedule, risk log) 2. Deliverable outputs from project (i.e. product marketing plan, software system, a bridge) Methods describe which products produced & when.
Processes Processes are the: 1. Steps followed when running a project. 2. Framework for how project will be managed. (i.e. risk management process) Processes documented/referenced in PMP.
Templates for documentation Business case PMP Risk log Product specification Able to set document best practice through lessons learnt on previous projects.
