Booting the computer Booting the computer is when the start up sequence that starts the operating system. A boot sequence is the initial set of operations the computer performs when started up.
Performs basic computer tasks Able to run external devices such as mouses, printers and keyboards. Most are now plug in and play which is when you plug in a printer, it will automatically detect the device.
Provides a user interface There are 2 main user Interfaces. They are command line and a graphical user interface (GUI). Command line lets user interact with the operating system by sending commands to the computer. With a GUI the user can use a mouse to interact with the operating system accessing icons, menus an windows.
