What is a compound? A compound is a substance made up of more than one atom, chemically joined together. It has 2 or more elements.
What is the formula for water? 2 x Hydrogen atoms, 1 x Oxygen atom = 3 atoms in total
What is an ion? An ion is a charged particle/atom. Metals are positively charged (Loss of electrons) and non-metals are negatively charged (Gain of electrons).
What does a water molecule look like? This is a water molecule, the 2 hydrogen atoms join on to the oxygen atom.
What is the scientific name and symbol (chemical formula) for table salt. Sodium Chloride - NaCl
Does the formula for a compound ever have charges? No, it does not.
