Her pulse was Full and Wiry especiallyon the right Middle position, and her tongue was red in the centre and had a dry yellow coating. | This patient suffered from Stomach-Fire ('knot' in the stomach, thirst and bleeding gums) and deficiency of Spleen-Qi (lack of appetite and loose stools). The loss of taste and smell is due to Spleen deficiency, but also to Stomach-Heat 'burning' upwards. |
