Step 1. 1. Add sample of liquid to a hypodermic syringe via a needle.
Step 2 2. Weigh the hypodermic syringe.
Step 3. 3. Inject the sample into a gas syringe through the self-sealing rubber cap.
Step 4 4.Reweigh the hypodermic syringe to find the mass of the volatile liquid added to the gas syringe.
Step 5. 5.Place the gas syringe in a boiling water bath at 100c, the liquid vaporises producing a gas.
Step 6 6. The pressure is recorded.
