Question Answer
1. monosaccharides Glucose is the major monosaccharides used in respiration There are often(less common) forms eg; fructose, galactose There small simple molecules are absorbed directly into the blood and do not require digestion Therefore they provide instant energy.
Disaccharides Disaccharides are digested into monosaccharides( or used of storage)
Polysaccharides Polysaccharides are very large molecules which are (mostly) long chains of glucose molecules.
Lipids lipids are the waxes and fats( solids) and oils(liquids)
Nucleic Acids Nucleic Acids make up the genetic material (DNA/RNA) DNA= deoxyribose nucleic acids RNA= ribose nucleic acids
Respond to stimuli A stimulus is a change in the environment
excrete Excretion is the production of cellular waste. eg;CO2, Urea
