Cocaine

It is a stimulant of the central nervous system, an appetite suppressant, and a topical anesthetic. Specifically, it is a reuptake inhibitor of serotonin-norepinephrine-dopamine (also known as a triple reuptake inhibitor (TRI), which mediates the functionality of these neurotransmitters as an exogenous ligand catecholamine transporter.

Consequences

The effects of cocaine appear almost immediately after a single dose and disappear in minutes or in an hour . Those who use cocaine in small amounts generally feel euphoric , energetic, talkative and mentally alert , particularly in relation to the visual , auditory and touch sensations . Cocaine can also temporarily decrease appetite and need for sleep . Some consumers find that the drug helps them make faster some , both physical and intellectual , simple tasks while others experience the opposite effect.

For the preparation and consumption of coca different methods and preparations are known: coca leaves, coca paste , cocaine hydrochloride and cocaine alkaloid ; each has different power levels and intoxication due to the varying levels of purity . One of the most common ways for use and consumption is crack , a cocaine alkaloid extracted from a salt powder mixing it with sodium bicarbonate and drying in small stones. Crack differs from other forms of cocaine easily vaporizable and when its effects are very fast inhaled .

The main routes of cocaine administration are oral, nasal, intravenous and pulmonary. The nasal administration, known as "sniffing" or "snorting" is the process of inhaling cocaine powder through the nose where it is absorbed into the bloodstream through the nasal membranes. You can also apply the drug directly to the mucous membranes. Injection or intravenous administration carries the drug directly to the blood thereby increasing the intensity of its effect. Smoking cigarettes steam or smoke cocaine to the lungs, where the blood is absorbed to the same speed as when injected inhaled.
